“I like coming here, it gets me out of the house, and I am able to play games and socialize with people. Since I live alone my doctor was worried about me being isolated, but the last time I went to the Dr. she said that there has been an overall improvement of my health. That I am doing a lot better, and part of that is coming to the Day Center and the support that they give me. It is the best thing that I did, coming here.”
“I was off because of the holidays and I found myself missing it at The Day Center. You all bring me so much joy and are able to help me when I need it. I know that when I come here, I am with people that want to help and care for me. I really just enjoy my time here.”
“What would I do without the Day Center?”
“I cannot express enough how much your program means to me. You are a life saver.”
"The impact of the Day Center is felt with [my husband] Bob, whose thriving there brings me peace. It prompts me to allocate time for various activities, including volunteering at the Kids' Food Basket, scheduling appointments, and enjoying lunch with friends. Evergreen Commons is an invaluable gift to our community, offering a pathway to discover Holland!"
"I am fortunate to have a place for my wife to go while I am working. If I didn’t have the Day Center, she might be in a nursing home, which would wipe out everything we have. Holland is lucky to have the Day Center."
“My dad is alive today because of the staff.”
"My husband, Steve, is really enjoying his two mornings/week at Evergreen Commons. The staff help him feel like he is needed and helpful which help him feel "special" and useful. The staffs' kindness and "appreciation" speaks to him, and he often says when I pick him up, "I am so glad I came today...I really had a good time!" Thanks so much, EC staff, for all you do to help him feel "special " in this phase of his dementia."
